"When an awesome spot like Town Brewery asks if you want to be involved in a beer-related charity initiative, the answer is obvious,” says Zack Mykula of PUP, the JUNO nominated punk band from Toronto, “Especially when it benefits such an amazing group as Sistering. Working on behalf of women in need in the Toronto area, be they homeless, marginalized or socially isolated, their cause of compassion is very close to our hearts."
Town Brewery based in south Whitby has collaborated with the members of PUP to brew up a Kveik Pale Al named “Scorpion Hill”, the title of a track on the band’s latest album, ‘Morbid Stuff.’ Kveik is a centuries old yeast used in Norway.
The beer will be available for sale Friday Feb 21 2020, the day before PUP’s sold-out out show at the Oshawa Music Hall in neighbouring Oshawa.
Sistering is a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women and trans people in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed.
“Up on Scorpion Hill watching life /Passing me by in the pale moonlight /And I sat there forever, three sheets to the wind It’s not helping my case, the state that I’m in”
- lyrics from Scorpion Hill
