The OMAs, Durham Region Music Awards, were handed out at an in-person gala held at the Biltmore Theatre Thursday Sept 29 2022. The event was hosted by Lindsay Schoolcraft who won Artist or Band of the Year. Performers on the night included Tania Joy, Valdii and two time winner, Delom Om winning Emerging Artist as well as Music Video. The other winners on the night include Jadea Kelly for Single of the Year; Wayne Madder for Album of the Year; Cameron Tania for Songwriter of the Year. The Music Teacher of the Year went to Emily Snellings, who gave an impassioned speech urging greater resources for public music education. The Durham Song of the Year was won by Gal George Gjurin, and Music Industry of the Year went to Hill Kourkoutis. 70’s rock band Wednesday, Durham Girl’s Choir, and Greg Keelor received the Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame award.
