The woodsy timbred Woods goes all Broken Social Steen on the first single "Burn That Bridge" from his new album 'Both Ways'. The track rolls like a hug of thunder down Thunder Road, or the anthemic leaning Bruce covering Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl. Its an emotional builder with the sweet teeth of failure and loss nibbling at the edges. The album drops April 20 2018 on Meant Well.
Hey Mama, new track from Nathaniel Ratetliff and the Nightsweats, plays Massey Hall May 18
The latest track from Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats is a four minute trip though the Last Waltz, all of those Winterland Ballroom kats, from Dylan to Van Morrison and Levon Helms & Co. show up in sonic vignettes on this pretty, great track, its oozy like a Sunday Morning, eh Mama? Kathleen Edwards returns, plays Live at Massey Hall May 4 with Matt Mays
Matt Mays and Kitty Edwards - its a comeback bill made in CanCon heaven. Sign me up for this one as each are among my favourite artists. Both have been on a hiatus for quite sometime, Edwards has "quit" the business and opened a coffee house in Ottawa. Mays is rolling on back with his new album 'Once Upon a Hell of a Time . . ." and Edwards will be performing as a special guest. Ah yes the call of Massy Hall and friendship is strong so with prices starting at $18.94 you can see these two on the iconic stage. The Live at Massey Hall series is filmed and then made available online. Its an opportunity for artists as diverse as Peaches, Sloan, the Constantines and Tanya Tagaq to perform on the iconic stage.
