The soulful sounds of blues master Matt Andersen will resound around Oshawa’s Regent Theatre May 3 (and possibly beyond). The stop is one on the New Brunswick singer/songwriter’s North American and European tour for his upcoming release, ‘Halfway Home By Morning’. The album recorded in Nashville with producer Steve Dawson will out on True North in Canada Mar 22 2019. Andersen will be joined by Amy Helm, who appears on the double single, “Something To Lose”/ “Better Than You Want” . Helms, the daughter of Levon, is opening all Ontario dates. The Mellotones will also be performing with Andersen.
There's Beauty in the Tension, the Olympic Symphonium sees all
Well, the Olympic Symphonium may not be going to S. Korea but they will be travelling around PEI and Nova Scotia this winter. The Fredericton, NB, four-piece have a gentle approach to their craft, putting them somewhere between Spirit of The West and the Rheostatics, and Dan Mangan and John K Samson, which is damn fine box to be in (and don't even get me started on the Beach Boys slide on the track "Side By Side", I could ride that wave right out to sea, only it would be the Atlantic not the Pacific and the Atlantic is way cold hence could not would.)
The four folks have an album, "Beauty in the Tension" out Feb 9 2018 and the latest single "Comedy" is out - touch of Godley & Creme to the video, see below.
