“Kops has been in the business of buying and selling records since the late '70s and was started by my father, Martin Koppel. I got involved with the stores roughly 12 years ago. My dad started the business from the trunk of a car, and we now currently have three locations, Kops Oshawa (156 Simcoe St. S.), Kops Danforth (209 Danforth Ave.) and Kops Queen (395 Queen St. W.).
We carry a broad selection from Electronic to Spoken Word and everything in between.
We are now the longest running record store in Toronto, with expertise to match! We pride ourselves on our hard to find 45s and our Kollectibles section, which is made of rare and wonderful vinyl that collectors covet.
We are always buying collections at fair prices and know what collectors are looking for. We keep our inventory fresh and exciting and people look forward to coming in often to see what's new! “
The faces and voices of 'SoJo, Oshawa' is a photo essay focusing on the people who are investing in the area known as ‘SoJo’, a strip of businesses located south of John, along Simcoe Street South.
